President's Comments

Another warm welcome to a week looking more positive on the lockdown front – here’s hoping.

So, until next week, stay warm, well and positive. Maybe even Open opportunities!! See you Thursday.

Sergeant's Snippets
Thank you to those members who shared one of their proudest moments with us last Thursday.  We will run this again at a future meeting.

This coming Thursday we have the second round of members sharing their stories of recruitment. August is Membership month on the Rotary calendar.

Thank you for keeping to the two minute time limit for sharing during the Sergeant’s session.

Ear Health Research Program
The RCNB  Board is very excited to announce the approval of a major Project to support the Ear Health Research Program – Menzies School of Health Research DARWIN.

Through this support, the purchase of much-needed technical equipment is enabled for ongoing study and testing of hearing issues, especially with indigenous children in the remote communities in the Northern Territory.

A number of Members remain very ‘touched’ by Professor Amanda Leach’s presentation on this most worthwhile work at our June meeting and have already generously expressed a desire to contribute personally to funding part of this Project.  With this in mind, the Club has made an overall commitment (including member assistance) of $7,500.

Tony Hart told us about his two daughters graduating from University with degrees, the first to do so on either side of his and his wife's families.

Hugo told us about working in Taiwan - here is Hugo's moment.

JJ could not be present but made us a video.  Click here to listen to it.
