Vice President Tony

It was a privilege to stand-in for President Greg at last week’s meeting, tempered as it was by the sad news of Judy Steinicke’s passing. The affection for Judy was apparent at the meeting and there are reflections on Judy’s life and contribution elsewhere in the Grapevine.

I look forward to welcoming everyone to our Birthday Celebration on Thursday night.

Judy Steinicke
Judy Steinicke sadly passed away last week and many at the Club meeting on Thursday reflected on her wonderful contribution to Rotary and our Club and her support for Geoff over the years.

Congratulations at the District Conference

At Saturday’s District Conference, Rotary North Balwyn received a multi category award for our amazing Gardening Program - my thanks to every Member, friend, school student, support worker and Council employee who have all enabled this very appropriate recognition.

For any Project to meet the Community needs in this manner over 10 years is worth celebrating. I especially note this as initially being Rowan’s brainchild and has been tirelessly managed by fellow Rotarians including the late Brian Hurnard, Peter Elliott, Geoff Haddy and now Neil Marshall. My sincere thanks to these Members and everybody associated over the 10 years.

So, Celebrate our great RCNB gardening award at this Thursday’s birthday night.
May it long continue!!

Proud President Greg

Can't imagine how Rowan got a chance to sit down as he was frantically busy organising and running the showcase and he did it brilliantly.  Thank you Rowan.

Not sure if the raffle tickets were rigged but the five prizes were won by five women!!

Our Meeting on 29 April
Our Guest Speaker, Paul Rizzo, gave a fascinating insight into banking and the changes in this sector over the last 40 years or so.

He is pictured with Imre receiving his certificate of appreciation.
