President Greg looks back on a great fun meeting last week, reminds us about the SGM on 3 Sept and looks ahead to what is planned in the next few weeks.
Thank you to club members who participated in Round Two of The Most Creative Thing I’ve Done in Lockdown. This adds a richness to knowing each other.
This coming Thursday we will hear from members about The Best Book on Their Library Shelf.
From the Almoner
Here is some good news from Geoff Kneale (in his words):
Melissa and I are certainly much better.
Geoff is back at work this week and Melissa, while still with a weak chest and dry cough, gets exhausted by mid afternoon, with a temperature.
But vast improvement.
We have been requested to provide our plasma for immunity drug trials, so if anyone else wants our blood, get in line behind Red Cross and the Commonwealth Bank.
Thank you to members who have paid their Club subscription due at the start of July.
There are still a few renewals outstanding and these are now overdue. Prompt payment would be appreciated. If any of those members is temporarily financially embarrassed, please speak in confidence to the Treasurer.
Something for when we are out of lockdown!
Our Club has received an upgraded EFTPOS device from Bendigo Bank.
Wouldn’t it be nice if we could make use of it for meetings at KGC or selling sausages at Bunnings?
There’s not much training required, but when we do emerge from lockdown and able to resume some of our ‘normal’ activities, we’ll ensure members are aware of the (minor) differences in using the new machine.
Rotary International President
Jennifer E. Jones, a member of the Rotary Club of Windsor-Roseland, Ontario, Canada, has been nominated to become Rotary International’s president for 2022-23, a selection that will make her the first woman to hold that office in the organization’s 115-year history.
Rotary is a global network of 1.2 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.
